on that tradition.” Keeping with the tradition of the church, he hopes to offer more opportunities for outreach as they have begun men’s Bible studies, home Bible studies, and small groups. They have also partnered with the International Baptist Church in holding revivals, and offer Bible studies on Friday nights for international students. As far as what he has learned being a pastor, he says, “I have more sympathy for regular people who have struggles…I have learned to pray more, visit, and care more for them.”

When asked about his new hometown, he gushed about his family’s love for Abilene and its “West Texan” value. “The people are friendly and helpful, and the city is very rich culturally with a very rich life.” Their hobbies and interests outside of the church include attending the concerts at the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra, and the many concerts where their children perform. With four daughters, Megan (18), Madeline (12, and a state qualifer for piano), Marianne (10), and Margaret (6), all of which are excellent musicians, Abilene seems to be a perfect ft. However, for this incredible man of God, Abilene holds a more personal meaning for him, “I feel like this city is quite special in the whole country. People always say the core of America is in the ‘Bible Belt’, and Abilene is actually on the buckle. Here, we are not ashamed to be called Christian , and that is very unique. I feel like I’m on top of the world, I am really enjoying it!” U ALM

Daiqing and his family are a perfect ft for Abilene. When asked about his new hometown, Daiqing quickly notes its friendly atmosphere and rich culture. “[It] is quite special in the whole country,” he says.
