Entering the doors of a young, local restaurant may seem like a simple act. But, stepping back out of that doorway after a two-hour conversation with family, friends, and food, you are left with a sense of celebration for taking the time to share a fewmoments of life together. The tables of local restaurant, Bonterra Blu, in Clyde are flled every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night with patrons that enjoy the idea of relaxing for awhile, and taking pleasure in the food and company. Though their doors have been inviting local residents in since November of 2010, owners Joel and Trish Trueblood continue to hear the common question, “Why Clyde?”

“Really because Clyde needed something to be proud of,” replies Joel. “We kind of looked around and there wasn’t anything, and we knew that restaurants could do that for a city…it’s a sense of pride. People now can brag about Bonterra Blu when they hear people at work in Abilene talking about it. It belongs in Clyde. It doesn’t belong anywhere else. Even if they’ve never even been in the restaurant, they can be proud of the buzz about it.” “Another thing that has been lost is the art of going out to eat and enjoying that experience,” Trueblood explained. “The concept here is that you don’t need any more entertainment once you leave the restaurant. You don’t have to come by here and get a quick bite to eat and then run to Abilene to see a movie. Your entertainment should be sitting in here for two hours, breaking bread
