She uses many of her secret recipes and also makes wonderful pies for the soda shoppe. A couple of recipes are ours and we use a version of my grandmother's homemade ice cream recipe."

The menu features down-home cooking favored with a pinch of memories. The steakhouse is situated on his grandparents' garden spot. Menu names include

Grandmommie's supper with favorites such as chicken fried steak and Papa's garden with side dishes such as corn on the cob. Even the young 'uns have options such as burgers, dogs, and fries. "We are a private club and serve beer, wine by the glass and our newly-created frozen wine-a-rita, a margarita made with wine." Todd and Robin describe their steakhouse and soda shoppe as unique, family-friendly and entertaining. One quick glance around will easily convince you it's true. Customers describe the steak as the absolute best they've had in a long time. That very frst taste will easily convince you they're right. The ambience encourages guests to step back in time and savor signature favors steeped in the richness of the past.

"Todd's project is a work in progress. You never know what he's going to add next. Some of his best ideas have been adding more space," notes Robin. "However, when he started collecting antique pianos, I encouraged him to collect things that were smaller and easier to haul."

"We work together on the business side and in the restaurant. Sometimes other family members also work with us. I enjoy tweaking the menu, adding new favors and trying different dishes. A recent addition was a fat-free strawberry shortcake."

The Fannings fnd antiques everywhere. "We have the frst TV sold at Hefey's in Stephenville in the 1940s," says Todd."One of my favorite pieces is an antique cash register in the soda shoppe.
