the May 2011 Commencement. Hunter explains, “We hope this encourages students and their families to come celebrate together and get connected as the students transition into alumni. Students become alumni, and we want them to feel connected from when they begin at ASU until after they leave. Once a Ram, always a Ram.”

Although a 40% increase is an impressive feat to accomplish in a year, the money and the numbers are not the foremost priorities for the Alumni Association. As Hunter explicates, “Our Alma Mater makes us all family.” Above all, the Alumni Association hopes to develop relationships with students and alumni that last a lifetime.  SAL

Ram Jams and tailgating are the Alumni Association’s most consistently attended events because of the family friendly environment, free food, free music, games, giveaways, and Member’s Room. Tracy Cole, an ASU Alumnus, remembers, “My friends and I went to Ram Jam, and there was always something to do. It fowed really well. Plus, the food was great. Basically anytime I’ve gone to an event at the Alumni Association, the food caliber has been positively memorable in comparison to other events at ASU. Plus, the overall event was just fun.”
