« Previous Page Table of Contents Next Page »As a citizen I appreciate anything any person or organization does to honor our men and women who have served as well as, those who are serving in the armed forces now. As a veteran, I am always pleased to attend ceremonies like the one in December, 2010. I thought the ceremony was well-conceived, brief and to the point (some events are rather lengthy and do little to celebrate the services rendered by others). Te neat thing about that particular event was that it was youth-centered and youth-led, for the most part. Te introduction of the JROTC into the ceremony was a great touch. Having the Veterans Cemetery here in Glennville is a genuine boon. It has been the source of community pride and is a great tool for
steering people in our direction.
